- There was a woman living in Hodgestown. She was out in the fields one day and came across a bean sidhe. The bean sidhe was combing her hair. The bean sidhe then disappeared leaving the comb left behind her. The woman was anxious to get it and she took it home with her.
The bean sidhe used to come knocking at the window every night looking for the comb. Some one told the woman to give back the comb to the bean sidhe but not to hand it to her. One night when the bean sidhe came to the window the woman took the comb in the tongs and gave it to her and the bean sidhe broke it in two halves.Mí Bealtaine: An 18ú lá 1938.- Collector
