- In the neighbourhood there are two old churchyards. They have been closed down except for a few families now.They are
1. Newtown - between here and Kilbeggan
2. Clonfad - between here and Mullingar
3. Tore - at John Morgan's gateIn these three graveyards Catholics and Protestants alike were buried. There was a new graveyard opened here in the year 1932. Only Catholics are buried there. It was a field given by Miss Ryan on the Tore road.
Up to then all the people had to go to Meedin to be buried. That graveyard was not in this parish.Written by Kitty Maher
