    Sun - When the sky in the East is red at sunrise it is a sign of rain. It is called "The Dublin Red" here, because Dublin is to the East. When the sky is red at sunset it is the sign of fine weather.
    Moon - A ring around the moon denotes a storm and bad weather. The bigger the ring the nearer and worse the strom. When the New Moon is on its back it is the sign of bad weather.
