- We are told but few stories in the locality about the Fianna. The following is a story told to me by James Finnerty about the Fianna On one occasion Fionn and another giant were on Cnoe Astia hill and they had a test to see which was the better man at stone-throwing. Fionn took up a huge boulder and threw it with all his might. It kept on flying through the air until it alighted at the bottom of the hill of Ushnagh.
