    Wednesday the best day of all,
    Thursday for losses,
    Friday for crosses,
    Saturday no good at all."
    Monday and Thursday are for visiting days for any person suffering from ringworm and wildfire. When people are suffering from ringworm or wildfire they go to the "seventh son" to get cured, on one of those days.
    St Martin's Day, the 11 of November, is supposed to be unlucky for grinding oats, and no owners of mills ever grind the oats on this day. It is said to be unlucky because St. Marin was crushed to death in a mill.
