Paddy Conlon had ten sheep out in the snow. He searched in vain for a couple of days and on the third day he found one of them standing in the snow with the rest all round him. When he dug them out he found three of them dead and the rest of them alive.
Tom Mulrean had fifty six ewes and when he found them there was not one dead one among them.
Pat Rinkle lost two sheep out of fifteen and he also lost a young calf which he did not find until the snow was completely gone off the ground.
Travelling was impossible until the road men came and shovelled away the snow.- Collector
