    never entertained the idea of "begging." The "beggars" are sometimes called "strawboys."
    When the married couple are going away we often see an old boot bumping along the road attached to the spare wheel while the car is usually festooned with ribbons. The old boot is for good luck.
    When the married couple are leaving the church, we see their relatives outside the church door pelting them with confetti and rice.
    These are some of the many customs which are still observed amongst the people and as they are our heritage handed down to us from the past we should honour these customs and keep them alive amongst the people.
