- (continued from previous page)fort there is an opening which is leading into a cave. We are told that the fairies lived here long ago. People tried to explore this several times but they did not suceed in doing it. When they went in four or five yards the candle died and they could not go any farther.A couple of years ago a man named Jim Carey, who was the owner of the land went in with a priest and brought a flash lamp with them. When they went in they [?] many doors leading on to rooms which were about four or five high but they did not go in to any of the rooms because they thought that they might not find their way back again.In a placed called Faherin in the parish of (Faherin) Horseleap there is a fairy fort in Mr Langan's field. It is called a fort and it is circular in shape. The fort is enclosed by a ring of wire and inside this wire there is a row of big trees. No one went into this fort to explore the interior. Not far away from this fort there is a house owned by Mr. Boland It is said that the fairies used to march from(continues on next page)
