    Peter Macken, Joe Garry and Jack Duffy were the heads of teams for a number of years.
    Football was played between two parishes. These matches were only small games. They used to start the game about three o'clock in the evening and they were over early. Heavy drinking took place during the game. Poteen was the common drink and it was made my Mrs Molloy of Patrick St. Many fights took at these matches. They were more or less a rowdy games. No person went without his blackthorn stick under his arm for he was quite sure of having a
