- The different kinds of bread made in this district in olden times, were oaten-bread, potato-cake and boxty.
The flour was not made locally. I have not heard of grinding-stones being used in this district in the houses. St. Fecin, who lived in Fore, however, used a grinding-stone before he built the mill on the top of the hill, near Lough Lein.
