    which is attached to the manger at one end, and at the other end, to a tying around the cow's neck.
    In the Winter my father keeps the cows in the cow-house and he gives them hay.
    In Summer when the weather is fine and dry, the cows remain out in the field at night.
    A horse shoe is hung in the cow-house as a token of luck. A goat is kept with the cows for "luck" also.
