When the swallow flies low it is a sign of rain.
When the frogs get black it is a sign of wet weather.
When you see a weather gaul in the evening it is a sign of broken weather.
When the soot falls down the chimney we are to expect rain. When the seagulls come inland stormy and rainy weather is almost at hand.
When the cat sits with her back to the fire we are to expect hardship.
When the cattle stay at the back of the ditches it is a sign of snow.
