    The woman said to him "what way did you come."
    He pointed out towards the lake and said he came that way. She told him that he came across the lake. He said that if he thought he was crossing the lake he would be found dead in the middle of it and he got such a fright that he asked the women of the house to let him stay until the next morning.
    So when he got up some of the snow had melted away and he was able to find his way home.
    The lake he crossed was Lough Ennell and the stream was the Brosna.
