    truth I declare.
I came to Mullingar to see the
    big fair.
And for to stop there I was lonesome and loth.
I came down to see the Mc
Guines that lived at the Float.
When I came there I was
    shocked and dismayed to
see the bushes cut that once
    lent me a shade.
    And people there gazing that
    n'er drank a drop,
    Like myself got dismayed
when they saw the new shop.
    The next new arrival came
    by the next train.
