- The local roads in my district are knows by the names "the long boreen", "boteen Reilly" and the "Mairn".
The long boreen leads from the river Inny to the Main road.
"Boteen Reilly" leads from Empor bog to the "long boreen" and the Mairn leads from Rath Duff bog to the long boreen.
These roads were made as relief work after the famine.
The local roads were made by Robert Abets and his staff.
