  1. On a fort belonging to Mr Ledwith there grew a lone bush. One day, a workman started to cut down this bush, but a neighbour who was looking on, advised the workman not to continue with the work. The workman only laughed at him, and kept on sawing away. After some time, the bush was cut, but suddenly a branch jumped back, and hit the workman in the eye. He lost the sight of it, and after some time he lost the sight of the other eye, and then he was completely blind.
