- There is a holy well in Ballgarett named St Patricks Well and there is a big ash tree over it with seven branches on it but one of the branches never decayed.there is a stile and a wall around it and when people go to it to be cured, they have to leave a piece of their clothes on the tree. It is said that if anyone brought a piece of the timber home to burn it would not burn it is said that after nine days the disease you had would be gone. the invalids nib the water off St Patricks Well to the affected part.
