She used two pints of water in which parsnips were boiled and mixes one tablespoon of powdered alum in the liquid, stirs it well and bathe the affected part in the solution for twenty minutes. Allow to dry without rinsing. Keep the solution and repeat several times until the chilblains are quite gone.(continues on next page)
