Those bright merry scenes may recall.
And many in the land of their exile.
Will hear of regret of its fall.
The valley looks as charming as ever.
The hills keep their watch with a frown.
The river rushes on to the Inny.
And the house at the corner is down.Remarks:-
The above was secured by Patrick Keena of Mullaghcloe, a pupil of this school. The poem was given to him by a member of the Rourke family who live in the same district. The poet's name was Patrick Rourke. He died at an early age.
