- Clare Hill is about a mile to the South East of the village of Ballymore. The road to Streamstown and Boher runs beside it. On the side of the road there is a huge rock and in it there is the mark of a giant's foot. The origin of this hole dates back according to local tradition to the days of Finn. He was viewing the surrounding country from this rock one day, and something he saw in the distance vexed him. He stamped his foot in anger and it sank right through the rock.
