    1. If a hen is seen with a straw hanging from her, there is a stranger coming to the door. If a fork falls, a woman is coming to the house; if a knife falls a man is the visitor.
    2. The believe in luck or ill luck in connection with a black cat too. and they take it as a coil omen if anything happens to it. people of this locality are very fond of them and ever house has one, decked with ribbons and bells.
    3. They also believed in Magpies and composed a rhyme about them.
    One brings sorrow.
    Two joy.
    Three for a wedding,
    Five for silver,
    Six for gold.
    Seven for a secret that would never be told.
    4. If they see a white turkey they would wish
