If you hang a snail on a gooseberry thron, by the time the snail has decayed the warts are supposed to be gone also. There is such a thing as a ring for curing ringworm. It has to be applied on Monday and Thursday and some special prayers to be said.
The old people would use a hot poultice of linseed meal if anyone should take a sudden pain in side or stomach. Oatmeal and linseed mixed together are best for boils.
