  2. Snow-Storm 1932

    In the year 1932 there was a big snowfall. It started on Thursday evening, snowed during the night and all day on Friday and snowed on Saturday until twelve o'clock. It was accompanied by a storm and this piled the snow into drifts which were over six feet high on the roads in some places. It was so high on the roads that the people could not get to the shops or to the bogs for turf. The people were a fortnight before they could
