    was caught in a net by fishermen in Galway. She screamed to be let go but they would not let her go ; after a while she died on the shore. The next day the thirteen men that caught the mermaid went out in a boat and all of them were drowned. Long ago three men were coming out the Mucknagh road from rambling, at twelve o'clock. A mermaid began to follow them. One of them lay down in the gripe, another ran through the bog. These two were drowned and the mermaid passed out the other man and he went home safely.
