- There was a great lot of weight throwing done in Ballinacliffey. They used to throw half-hundred weights and sledges in Conell's field. The men used to collect in the Summer evenings to throw the weight. They would mark a place to stand at and then swing the weight with all their strength. Willie McElinn was(continues on next page)
