There was a tailor in this district who had very little courage...

    (continued from previous page)
who had very little courage. One day he was passing through a farmyard when a gander ran after him. He ran away shouting "life is sweet" "life is sweet". And ever since when people run away from anything that has only a small element of danger in it people say, "you are like the tailor who ran away from the gander shouting "life is sweet," "life is sweet."

There was a tailor in this place long ago...

III There was a tailor in this place long ago. One time he had only one needle and he lost that. Then he had to remain idle till some person went to town and bought him another needle. Ever since if any one forgets his implement going to the meadow or to the garden or if a child forgets his book or pen going to school, people say:- "Very good, tailor you lost your needle."
