In the townland of Kilkenny Abbey parish of Tubberclare there is a lough called Auburn Lough. At a certain time of the year and a certain time in the evening a woman is seen crossing the lough. She is sitting in a side to side car which is drawn by two horses. Everytime she crosses the lough she does be shouting "John, John, John." There were two people drowned in it and their names were John and when the third John is drowned the lough is to go away. It is said that there was a football match played on the lough and while playing they could see the track of the womans teeth where she passed.
