    During the Penal Laws when the priests were hunted, mass was said in the fields. There is a place in Killinineen parish of Drumraney called Foggy Hollow, this place marks the spot where mass was said in those days. The fields in which Foggy Hollow is situated is convenient to Connaughton's house. There is a flat rock in this place which was used as an altar.
