  1. In the townsland of Ardnagrath, parish of Drumraney, and county of West Meath there is a field belonging to Mr Edward Mann. In this field there is a rock which marks the place where mass was said during the penal times. Besides the rock there is a well and it was blessed by the priest that read the mass. He told them that were at mass, that if they were suffering from stomach trouble to talk a drink of water from the well and they would get cured. The priest used to say mass early in the morning or late in the evening. While he would be saying the mass he used to have men watching to see if any priest hunters were coming.
