- (continued from previous page)threw the boy overboard and took the mill to his cabin. One day he wanted some salt so he said to the mill "Bring me, little mill what I want" and out came the salt; but the captain didn't wait long enough to hear how to stop the salt, and nothing would move the mill when it was working. That night the ship sank with hundreds of tons of salt on board. But the mill still works at the bottom of the sea, giving a salty taste to the water.
- Once upon a time there was a very honest shoemaker, he worked hard every day but he never seemed to get enough to live on. At last all he had left was enough leather to make one pair of shoes. He cut them, all ready to make next morning, and went to bed.(continues on next page)
