  1. Cures:
    The water in which potatoes were boiled was considered good for stoping strains.
    Boiled cabbage leaves were used to apply to a burn.
    Brewfoot was hulled and boiled and made into a paste with lard for the cure of erysipelas. But only certain people knew how to do this properly. A man named McCord, who lives near Ballymahon, has this cure still.
