  1. A giant stood at the white gate of Ledwithstown in the year 1887 and threw three rocks over into Dimond Payne's field close by and at the same time he threw a rock into Paddy Feeney's field in Gurteen a distance of two miles and the track of his hand is in the rock. It lies in the field between the two schools.

  2. Maggie McArdles story is about the same rock. It is as follows: A giant stood near Athlone and threw the rock into Paddy Feeney's field a distance of six miles and the track of his hand is in the rock. It is a flat stone and weighs about a ton. This rock is called "the Giant's Rock".
