  2. Marriages take place in March Matches are made in my district Two men go to the house with a bottle of whiskey. The girl is brought up to the parlour. She is asked will she take this man. If there is any money in question he will ask what money she has. If she has enough of money to suit him, the match is made. If not she is thrown up like a bad heifer you would be buying in the fair. The like of that man marries the money and invites the girl
