   I live in the townland of Treel in the parish of Clonguish and in the barony of Clonguish. There are nine families in the townland. The number of people is thirty two. The family name most common is Hanafee. All the houses are thatched. The townland got its name from the long strips of land that are in it. There are three old people living in it, they do not know Irish, but they can tell stories in English, their names are Miss Greene, Mr John Mc Goey, and Mrs Mc Goey. There were more houses in this townland some time ago but only two old ruins remain. Many people emigrated to America in former years and in late years many to England. This townland is not mentioned
