    Boots are made and repaired in this district, there are a few good boot-makers around here - Pat Dowd lives at the Mill and is a very good tasty boot repairer. A man named Cambell lives in Drumlish and repairs boots also a man named Connaughton- he is also a harness maker. Frank Feury who lives in Esker is the oldest bootmaker in this district at the present time. There are not near as many shoemakers at present as there were in old times. This change is caused by the people buying their boots and shoes in shops, most of the work of the shoemaker now is repairing boots and shoes. Very few wear clogs now but they were worn up to 10 or 12 years ago, for working about the house, the old people say they were much warmer than the leather soled boots we have now. Elastic boots were worn up to a few years ago by most women - there was two
