- The following is a list of old cures which was told to me by my father Patrick Fealy Cullyfad.
The cure for a heart burn is to (put) drink butter milk and soda.
The cure for a thorn in your finger is to put a piece of fat bacon to it and it will remove the thorn.
The cure for a wart if you are going through a field and accidentlly see a black snail rub the snail to it and then hang it up on a whitethorn bush and while the snail withers the wart will go.
The cure for a sting of a wasp is to rub blue on it.
The cure for a pain in your side is to lift up a stone and spit on it and then leave it back in its place and then the pain will go.
The cure for a sting of a nettle is to rub a docking to it.
The cure for ringworm is to rub ink or iodine to it.
The cure for the whoping cough is if they get the milk the ferret leaves(continues on next page)- Informant
