Ar an leathanach seo
- The foods that were used long ago were potatoes, boxty, porridge or stirabout and oaten bread.
Potatoes were used for breakfast, dinner and supper.
There were no tables at this time and all the family gathered around the basket which was placed on the floor and ate a hearty meal.
The oaten bread was eaten after the dinner with a mug of sweet milk.
This oaten bread was very easily made.
First of all a scoop of oaten meal was placed in a basin and it was mixed until it stuck in one big lump.
