Herbs
24th March, 1938 In this district of Granard, Co. Longford, the most harmful weeds that grow on the land are dock leaf, buachalan, chicken weed, and crow - foot. Their seeds spread very rapidly unless they are cut off in time.
Nettles grow in uncultivated land, and their seeds spread quickly too, and although they are disliked by farmers they are considered most useful for feeding purposes. They are cut very fine , and(continues on next page)- Collector
