    In olden times our grandmothers gave nettles when they were fresh and young, in the early Spring as medicine to all the members of the family. They were also used as vegetables when people had nothing else.
    Dandelion was also considered a good food in the feeding of pigs; it had to be cut up out of the ground, and women and girls formerly went about doing this work and could be seen carrying
