    was able to throw him. He often told his neighbours that he never enjoyed anything in his life as well as once when he was a mere boy - in his teens he went out to his father's field where there was a young untrained three year old colt lying in the field. He stole up near the animal, jumped in on his back. The horse jumped up and started to gallop wild and "Owney" said he "stuck on his back like a clag" till finally he jumped into a ditch and tumbled where the rider was thrown into the drain.
