known as Rossan - now Killasonna also. Over forty years ago the present road - what is known as "The Mill Road" was made to join it to the Granard road and "The Well Lane" is now no longer used as a public road. This new road or "New Line" as it is now often spoken of as, was made by a family names Early of Derragh in 1847. The remains of the old pass or road can still be traced by the mearnings and boundaries which run through Matt Conwell's land, Patrick Langtry's, Thomas Nannery's and John Briody's.
