This she done every evening and the man was failing away. After a long time he went to a wise woman and told her his story. She told him he had no right to speak to the woman at all. Then she told him to go to a smith and to get a knife made with one heat and to be sure when she jumped up next to give her one dag of the knife in the heart. He got the knife made and when he went out with his horse he brought the knife with him. When he was coming back the woman was up behind him in a moment. He gave her a dag of the knife; she asked him for another and he says Oh, one will do. "Oh, misfortune on your teacher", says she and with that she disappeared and never troubled him more.
