The Fairy Ride
Collected by Bernadot Ni Bhradaigh Culcor, Granard. There was a young lad coming through a field near a fort one night and a whole lot of fairies took him, and put him on a calf's back, and told him not to speak.
The calf started to run and he jumped three ditches. When the lad saw this he said: speak or no speak that was a great jump for a calf. The fairies left him there and he had to walk home fifty miles. - Transcription guide »You are not logged in, but you are welcome to contribute a transcription anonymously.
