Fairy Forts There is a fairy fort situated beside our house. The land that it is on is owned by Mr Sam Knight. It is in the townland of Culaboy. The field that it is in is very broad and flat. It rises high above the level of the field and is surrounded by trees. The fairies are supposed to live in it. Long ago lights were often seen in it.
Long ago there was a story told about this fort. A man lived in the fort field. The ruins of his house are to be seen yet. One day he dug the fort field for potatoes. When he had the potatoes sowed he became a cripple. Then his wife brought him to a priest. The priest cured him and told him not to go near the fort any more. The priest cured him lived in Columcille(continues on next page)- Collector
