- It is said there is a pot of gold hidden in the townsland of Loughill. I do not know when or why it was put there. Neither do I know by whom. None of it was discovered. It is said two men went to dig for it and when they came to a flag of stone a gust of air forced them to run away.
When the robbers were returning from Bawn House after robbing it they were afraid of being caught so they hid it in Loughill bog and it is said to be there to the present day. No lights are seen near it and it is not connected with the fairies.- Collector
