- The Barley SongThis time last year to Ross I did go
I came from the Hook and passed through Coolroe.
And I met an old farmer named Martin Kehoe
Going to Ross with his sample of Barley.ii

Went in to see Mary and have a small drain
And there was an old woman named Johanna Kane
And she arguing with Katherine Carley.iii

Saying Johanna honey last year I was broke
And I went into Ross to auction my yoke
And the Landlord came up and he snarling.iv
The Barley t'was bad and the grain it was small
