- (continued from previous page)those small headstones is the Rev. Gregory Brown who died 1st October 1792. This priest met his death under very suspicious circumstances. He was found dead in the early morning, on the strand of Duncannon. Orange bigotry was rampant in Duncannon in those days and the English soldiery at the Fort would have little mercy for a Papist priest that would fall into their power. Father Brown belonged to the Boderan branch of that ancient Anglo-Norman family. He was C.C. OF St. James at the time of his death. The next priest of the Penal days who rests in Ballyhack is the Rev. Robert Barron P.P of St. James and Templetown. He died April 24th 1815 aged seventy-one years.
