    From time to time crowds of Gipsies call to the district but as far as we know they are not Irish for they have different accents and a different appearance.
    They always travel in caravans and they always have fine horses for sale or for "swapping".
    The Gipsies are fairly well off. They sell small mats, carpets, trinkets, bamboo tables and other articles.
    They are handsome with dark eyes and the women all wear coloured bands on their heads and long ear-rings.
    They are never as welcome or as honest as the "tinker" class.
    When they stay for a night at any place they graze their animals on someone's meadow without leave or licence.
    The women of the Gipsy tribe always offer to tell your fortunes or read your palms for a bit of silver.
