    O' Connor did spy and his time didn't waste
    The rain it did fall and the wind it did howl
    While Downey and Godkin stood against Murphys wall
    While poor Guard O' Connor got wet to the skin
    As he stood at Dixons back window and tried to peep in.

    This song was made by a woman named Mrs Daly ( now dead ) when the Civic Guards first came to the village . At first the people used to make fun
