    holes in the leather, thus (diagram)
    The cords when passed through the holes are knotted. A stone is put in the leather, then the two ends of the cords are held in the hand, the sling is whirled around and one cord is let go. The f stone flies out and often goes a long distance.

    Bow and Arrow
    A bow is made out of an alder stick. The stick is bent thus

    A cord is tied as in sketch. An arrow is put in the cord and the head of the arrow rests on the bow, thus

    The arrow and cord are pulled back to gether the arrow is let go & flies off. Sometimes it goes a good distance. Boys shoot arrows at birds and also at marks (e.g. a bottle set up on a wall).
